Buying

Do I need an account to browse listings?
No — anyone can browse listings without signing up. You only need an account to contact sellers, save listings, or make offers.
How do I contact a seller?
On any listing page, click "I'm Interested". The seller will receive your contact details and reach out to you directly. There are no public comment threads — all contact is private.
Can I make an offer below the asking price?
Yes. On any listing, you can submit a formal offer amount. The seller will be notified and can accept, decline, or counter.
Are listings guaranteed to be available?
All listings expire after 14 days and sellers must actively renew them. This means you only see parts that are recently active — but we recommend confirming with the seller before travelling to collect.
Does BikePart handle payments or delivery?
No — we are a listing platform only. Payment and delivery are arranged directly between buyer and seller. We strongly recommend inspecting parts in person before payment wherever possible.

Selling

How do I start selling?
Register for a seller account. Your first listing is free — no subscription needed. After that, a Basic subscription (R20/month) gives you unlimited listings.
How long do listings stay active?
Listings are active for 14 days, after which they expire automatically. You can renew a listing from your dashboard before it expires.
What is a featured listing?
Featured listings appear at the top of search results and on the homepage carousel. Premium subscribers (R79/month) can feature up to 3 listings per 14-day cycle — you choose which ones from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your active listings will be hidden (not deleted) until you resubscribe. No data is lost.
How do I mark a part as sold?
From your seller dashboard, find the listing and click "Mark as Sold". The listing will be removed from public search results.

Account & Billing

How do I change my password?
Go to your account settings or use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page to reset it via email.
How do subscriptions work?
Subscriptions are billed monthly via PayFast. You can cancel at any time from your subscription page — you won't be charged again after cancellation.
Can I get a refund?
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you've been charged in error, contact us and we'll investigate.
My subscription was activated but my dashboard still shows Trial. What do I do?
Payment confirmation usually arrives within a minute. If your plan hasn't updated after 5 minutes, try refreshing your subscription page. If it still shows Trial after 10 minutes, contact us with your payment reference.

Safety & Disputes

How do I report a suspicious listing?
On any listing page, click the flag icon to report it. After 3 flags from different users, a listing is automatically hidden pending mediator review.
I had a bad experience with a seller. What can I do?
You can raise a dispute through your account. Our mediators will review the case and work to facilitate a resolution. Note that our mediation is voluntary and non-binding.
Are sellers verified?
Sellers are bank-verified through our PayFast subscription process. KYC verification (ID document) is required for enhanced seller status. Always transact with caution and meet in a safe public location where possible.
